This page here contains STLs that are not required for building your Gugusse Compact but you might find the items here practical, if you were looking for the STLs to build the Gugusse Compact, you will find them here: Gugusse Compact.

35mm film splicer

I would not recommend this splicer if you want to use it for a 35mm projector, but for the Gugusse Compact it will do a better job than any real splicer. the Gugusse doesn't use sprockets like a projector and therefore doesn't react well to film holes that are covered with tape, it doesn't push the excess tape out of the way. Tape over film holes has a good chance to make you lose your registration sync. I personnally use this splicer with archival scotch tape (looks like regular scotch tape), I only tape the width of the picture and leave the holes uncovered. After hundreds of splices done for the 35mm trailers on my channel I can tell you that it suits my needs completely.

The way to use is simple, you align the film and then use a cutter in the middle groove while applying the cover over one half, you use the edge of the cover to hold the film and guide your blade. You then put the cover to cover all the holes and you then apply the scotch tape on one side, you turn the film over and apply another scotch tape. Remember NOT to cover any film hole.
